In September 2023, Mr. Shukuri, Chairman of JTTRI, and Mr. Asakawa, President of ADB, reaffirmed strengthening the relationship between the two organizations.
Based on leaders’ reaffirmation, the webinar was held as a first step of strengthening the relationship.
The summary of the webinar is as follows:
➀Opening: Mr. Goalou, Principal Transport Specialist of ADB, and Dr. Fujisaki, Distinguished Research Fellow/ Director General for Research of JTTRI, delivered remarks. Dr. Fujisaki introduced a list of recent research themes and topics that could be presented by JTTRI and proposed JTTRI present at the ADB Asia-Pacific Transport Forum as a form of collaboration. Mr. Tomita, Executive Director of AIRO, introduced the activities of AIRO.
②Maritime Decarbonization: Mr. Takeuchi, Senior Research Fellow of JTTRI, and Dr. McIntosh, Senior Regional Maritime Specialist of ADB, made presentations.
③Transit Oriented Development (TOD), Dr, Muto, Senior Research Fellow of JTTRI, and Mr. Sharma, Chief TOD expert National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), India, made presentations.
Based on the Webinar, JTTRI will continue to further strengthen the relationship with ADB.
