The latest activities by JTTRI-AIRO, such as conducting research, holding seminars and collaborating parties in the field of transport and tourism.

AIRO Senior Research Fellow and Senior Director, Mr. Yukio YAMASHITA with his colleagues participated in the "17th Future Airport and Aviation Systems Study Group Internal Meeting" sponsored by the Waterfront Vitalization and Environment Research Foundation (WAVE). JTTRI and WAVE have had a good relationship since 2019 based on the MOU for cooperation.
 

The WAVE held the "17th Future Airport and Aviation System Study Group Internal Meeting" (online, used language Japanese ) on March 28 (Monday) with the theme of aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Operation). On behalf of AIRO, Mr. Yukio Yamashita, Senior Research Fellow and Senior Director, made presentation about present situation and issues of Aviation MRO in some leading countries in Southeast Asian. In the meeting, the second presenter concerned with a newly established Aviation MRO company in Japan made a presentation on its background of establishment and its current situation. After that, participants had fun with discussion about the Japanese Aviation MRO in the future. AIRO members also joined and contributed for the meeting.
